Il sorger del sole - our start to 2024 - brilliant displays
We love to watch New Year festivities from our hillside on St. George’s Hill. There is much excitement where the first fireworks rise and cascade around ten minutes before midnight. Soon more begin and the whole Adriatic coastline becomes one enormous firework extravaganza. The Medieval city of Macerata was also glowing from fireworks raining above. Locally, there are lots of brilliant displays and in one neighbouring village a frequent loud boom resonates with star shell fireworks rising into the clear sky.A Place in the Sun magazine

del sole - “Have you ever dreamed of moving to rural Italy and running a B&B or living off the land? This is one

research showed Macerata as the most searched for location in Italy”. The TV series targets potential house
buyers who are interested in relocating to or buying a holiday home in sunnier climates throughout the
world including Italy of course.

Guests have included the granddaughter of Spyros Skouras the former President of 20th Century Fox, famed for discovering Marilyn Monroe. An ex-Manchester United footballer who played alongside George Best; a BBC TV antiques show presenter; an actor from “Corrie” (Top TV series Coronation Street); many famous opera singers, one who starred in a major production on New York’s Broadway and several International rally car drivers.il sorger del sole - our olive farm
Living in the midst of nature, and with our ongoing commitment preserving the heritage of our property and small working olive farm, we decided last mid-October to commence pruning our olive trees. The warm sunny weather continued to the end of December. We could almost sense the relief of these ancient trees as layers of foliage were removed. Some old farmers once told us a bird should be able to fly through the centre of the tree and another explained he would throw his cap into the tree and if pruned correctly would pass through to the other side.il sorger del sole - do you wish to own a B&B and olive farm?
We purchased il sorger del sole in 2002. After many years of happiness and enjoyment we now seek a new chapter in our lives. With a worldwide clientèle, often many departing as friends and own label extra virgin olive oil sold globally it’s a fantastic opportunity. We have received much international interest and some offers but the parties are not in a position to proceed yet.
